Nigerian Afrobeats star Kizz Daniel has opened up about his ongoing battle with addiction and efforts to quit smoking and curb his drinking.
The 'Buga' singer is one of Nigeria's most successful artists, but in interactions with fans online, he revealed the challenges he faces in giving up vices that have become part of his daily routine.
When asked by a concerned fan if he could quit smoking, the 30-year-old singer responded candidly: “Not that easy my bro. I'm trying…”
He elaborated on his relationship with alcohol when another fan inquired about giving up drinking. Kizz Daniel said stopping completely was very difficult.
“No, I can't… I can't record sober. I love my family, but it can be boring sometimes,” he revealed.
The singer's honesty about his struggles to quit comes after he had previously expressed a desire to stop smoking and drinking after welcoming twins in 2020.
However, Kizz Daniel now says the reality is that addiction is difficult to overcome, even with the will and motivations like starting a family.
