U.S. carrier group has entered CENTCOM region amid the rising Iran tensions.

The U.S. has deployed a naval strike group led by the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier to the Middle East, amid rising tensions with Iran. The move comes as Tehran warns it will hit back at any American attack launched in response to its crackdown on anti-government protests, which has reportedly killed thousands.

The USS Abraham Lincoln, accompanied by three destroyers, has entered the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) region, specifically the Indian Ocean, to promote regional security and stability. This deployment significantly boosts U.S. military presence in the area, with capabilities including F-35C and F/A-18 fighter jets, EA-18G Growler aircraft, and Tomahawk missiles.

U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that the fleet is heading towards Iran “just in case” military action becomes necessary, while also expressing hope for a diplomatic deal. Iran’s government has warned that any attack would lead to a comprehensive and regret-inducing response, with its proxies in Yemen and Iraq vowing to retaliate.

The situation remains tense, with concerns about potential escalation and regional instability.
