Nigerian skit maker and entertainer, Oderhohwo Joseph Efe, aka Carter Efe has stirred emotions online with a post hinting he might leave the earth on January 10.
On his X handle (formerly Twitter), Carter Efe on Tuesday, January 7, 2024 shared a post that has left many fans questioning what he is up to.
The 23-year-old skit maker, known for his viral skits and the hit song Machala celebrating Wizkid, posted a message, saying, “Might leave this earth January 10th,” accompanied by a heartbroken emoji.
A curious fan, @YKoluwaseun, tried to lighten the mood, asking, “If you leave, who go dey give us mid skit?” But Carter’s reply deepened the concern.

He responded, “It’s funny now until you lose me, and you will later regret.”
The post has sparked a mix of reactions, with some fans saying, Carter Efe should tread carefully and reconsider his words.
@phlexyl also asked, “Who’s gonna be there to spit on the camera now?” and @beri_grizou joked, “Maybe draw the line on jokes, since you can’t draw it on your hairline.”
However, others expressed frustration, with @TheDamiForeign criticizing the post as a clout-chasing move for a “song that won’t even crack the top 10.”
Meanwhile, @Adeomo_ola reflected on the unpredictability of life, saying, “Everyone’s gonna die one day, bro. Even your January 10 might not be it—God’s plans are different.”
The conversation took a darker turn with @Energycrypt speculating about a possible ritual, asking, “Wait… did you do some ritual in 2020?”
Adding a more serious perspective, @celebrityhonour drew comparisons to late artists like #Dagrin and #Mohbad, noting how similar remarks were overlooked before tragedy struck. (
