Afrobeats star, Kizz Daniel has advised his colleagues to work on improving their craft rather than focusing on social media algorithms.
He cited Killer Mike, a four-time Grammy Award winner, as an example of a successful artiste that has prioritised his craft over social media fame.
The Pano Tona crooner said, “Leave social media algorithms. Focus on your craft. Have you ever heard of a guy called KILLER MIKE. Guess not … 4 times Grammy winner. Stop chasing number 1 song. It’s meh now = everything can be controlled…. Most of those songs numbers no dey correlate on other platforms… Check.”
Kizz Daniel’s remark comes amid renewed social media discussion about streaming farms, which is a setup designed to artificially inflate the number of views, listens, or streams on digital platforms.
The discussion was sparked by reports that Wizkid’s latest single, Kese Dance had been displaced from the top spot of the Apple Music Top 100 and was nowhere to be found at all on the chart, supposedly as penalty from Apple Music for streaming manipulation.
However, the song returned to the top spot seven hours later.
