Afrobeats artist, Kizz Daniel, is marking ten years of musical achievement with the launch of two eagerly awaited singles, ‘Marhaba’ and ‘We Must’
The track “Marhaba,” crafted by the talented dyad Ramii and Suhel Nafar, merges Kizz Daniel’s distinctive sound with innovative rhythms, effectively fusing Afrobeats with elements of traditional Northern African music.
This composition is poised to connect with audiences both locally and internationally, enriching his already diverse musical repertoire.
The term “Marhaba,” meaning “Welcome” or “Hello” in English, is among the most commonly used phrases in Northern Africa and the Middle East.
‘Marhaba’ left a significant impression on Kizz Daniel during his brief yet impactful visit to the region, playing a crucial role in the song’s development.
Kizz Daniel’s work exemplifies his capacity to produce music that resonates across various continents and cultures, while also emphasizing his exceptional skill in bringing together diverse audiences.
By integrating global influences into his musical style, he consistently enhances the prominence of Afrobeats internationally, fostering connections between nations through the universal medium of music.
In addition, the track ‘We Must” crafted by the renowned Ayzed, who has gained recognition for his fruitful partnerships with Kizz Daniel.
The song’s dynamic rhythm and motivational lyrics create a memorable highlight in Kizz Daniel’s anniversary festivities, encapsulating the essence of his ten-year journey in the music industry.
Initially, he had planned to collaborate with a prominent UK rapper to introduce a gritty grime element to the track; however, delays in receiving the verse prompted him to take initiative. Instead of waiting, Kizz Daniel chose to immerse himself in the grime genre, delivering the verse and transforming the song into a solo project.
This daring decision led to the distinctive credit of the track: ‘We Must’ by Kizz Daniel featuring Thyself. It underscores his adaptability and commitment to expanding creative horizons while remaining faithful to his artistic vision.
Since his emergence with the iconic debut single ‘Woju’ in 2014, Kizz Daniel has consistently taken the lead in the Afrobeats arena. His debut album, New Era, was awarded The Headies ‘Album of the Year’ in 2016, and he received a nomination for The Future Awards Africa the subsequent year.
Fueled by the tremendous success of the track ‘Nesesari’, Kizz Daniel’s 2018 sophomore album, No Bad Songz, achieved remarkable acclaim.
The album topped the iTunes World Album Chart on its first day. Since 2020, this Nigerian artist has launched four highly praised projects: King Of Love, Barnabas, Maverick, and TZA, which have produced significant Afropop hits such as ‘Boys Are Bad’, ‘Lie’, ‘Rich Till I Die’, and ‘Twe Twe’.
With more than four billion streams to his name, two singles that topped the Shazam charts, sold-out tours throughout Africa, North America, and Europe, and a social media following exceeding 25 million, Kizz Daniel stands as a prominent figure in the global representation of Afrobeats.
Following a remarkable 2022, Kizz Daniel achieved a significant milestone including being named the most streamed artist in Africa in the first half of the year.
He released the summer’s biggest Afrobeats hit “Buga,” and performing at the 2022 World Cup opening ceremony alongside Diplo and Calvin Harris,2023 proved to be an even more monumental year for Kizz Daniel.
His accomplishments included the successful release of his fourth studio album, “Maverick,” a headline performance at the Essence Festival, and a chart-topping collaboration with Becky G, among other notable achievements.
As of 2024, Kizz Daniel is commemorating a decade of success in Afrobeats music through his “Vado At 10” world tour.
