Since Hall’s Motor Sports in Trussville relocated, its former home on South Chalkville Road has remained empty.
Alabama-based general contractor Seay Construction proposed a plan for the space, which Trussville City Council will vote on Tuesday night, January 21.
6345 South Chalkville Road housed Hall’s Motor Sports until June 2024, when the company relocated to Roosevelt Boulevard.
The now-vacant 35,500-square-foot building is begging for a new tenant, and Seay Construction wants to bring retail, restaurant, entertainment and more to the space.
According to the Trussville Tribune, Seay Construction believes the development could produce $13 million in taxable income per year.
For the resolution to be considered, the city would give up two-thirds of the sales tax revenue generated by businesses in the development for the next 10 years. The city also agrees to waive all permit fees.
The working name is Cahaba Station, and the plan shows an extra entertainment area and outdoor dining spot projected to open in 2026.
