As the curtain of 2024 draws to a close, it’s impossible not to pause and reflect on the remarkable talents who left an indelible mark on Nigeria’s entertainment industry before bowing out of the stage of life.
Death, they say, is ‘no respecter of persons’, and this year has reminded us of this truth in the most heart-wrenching ways.
Here are Nigerian stars whose passing left many mourning their absence and celebrating their legacies.
Chief Adedeji Aderemi, popularly known as Baba Olofa Ina, was a veteran Yoruba filmmaker and actor who lit up the Yoruba theatre industry for decades. At 73, his impactful journey came to an end, leaving a void in the hearts of his fans and colleagues Baba Olofa Ina’s legacy in Nigerian cinema remains unshaken.

Tolani Quadri Oyebamiji, popularly known as Sisi Quadri, departed at the young age of 44. A staple in Yoruba Nollywood films, his vibrant performances will remain etched in the minds of many. Colleagues and fans alike shared heartfelt tributes to this talented actor.
